Aviation.com.bd to organize workshop on ground operations careers

Dhaka: The aviation and tourism community engagement platform, Aviation.com.bd, is set to organize a day-long workshop introducing young people to aviation ground operations and related career opportunities, according to a release from the organization.
Titled "Introduction to Aviation Ground Operation: Knowledge & Career Path," the event will be held on September 26 at Bishwo Sahitto Kendro in the capital, running from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The organizers said conversations about aviation careers in Bangladesh typically center on pilots and cabin crew, overlooking the many professionals who handle operations between an aircraft's arrival and departure, including passenger services, baggage, cargo, airside functions, and safety.
The workshop aims to familiarize participants with these ground operation roles and the skills needed to pursue them. Organizers noted that Bangladesh's expanding aviation infrastructure and airport operations are likely to drive greater demand for skilled workers in ground handling, passenger services, baggage, cargo, and airport support.
The program will cover fundamentals of ground operations, an industry overview, key functional areas, career pathways, and professional development skills. Attendees will also get a chance to interact directly with experienced aviation professionals.
Harunur Rashid, founder and CEO of Aviation.com.bd and a former airport manager at Air Arabia, will lead the workshop. Misbah Al Ahmed Mazumder, an advisor to the Bangladesh Aviation Committee, will join as a special speaker.
An experienced industry professional, Mazumder, previously worked with several international airlines and logistics firms, including British Airways, Emirates, DHL, Qatar Airways, RAK Airways, Sri Lankan Airlines, and Maldivian.
The participation fee is set at BDT 2,500, while an early registration fee of BDT 2,000 will be available until August 31. All participants will receive certificates upon completing the workshop.
