Narita Airport unveils revamped Terminal One

Dhaka: Narita International Airport has reopened part of its Terminal One following a USD 15.7 million upgrade designed to enhance the passenger experience with a stronger focus on Japanese culture and relaxation.

The newly redesigned area, located on the fifth floor, introduces six themed zones aimed at offering travelers a more immersive and calming environment. Visitors are welcomed by a striking bamboo installation known as the “Ring of Sky,” leading into a digital art space inspired by a serene bamboo forest.

A major highlight of the renovation is the Shikisai Garden, a large seasonal-themed space featuring a walking path, stepped seating for unobstructed aircraft viewing, and even footbaths for passengers to unwind before their flights.

The upgraded section also includes a relaxation lounge, a children’s play area, and a food court styled around Japan’s four seasons, creating a family-friendly atmosphere.

Airport authorities said, the improvements are part of broader efforts to elevate passenger comfort and cultural engagement, with potential upgrades to Terminal 2 also under consideration.
