Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka marks 45 years of hospitality

Dhaka : Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, one of the capital's longest-standing
five-star hotels, has marked its 45th anniversary, celebrating four and a half
decades of hospitality, dining and service in a rapidly changing Dhaka.
Opened
in 1981, the hotel has remained a prominent fixture in the capital's
hospitality landscape through successive periods of economic and social change.
Its 45-year journey has closely followed Dhaka's transformation from a
relatively small commercial center into a major business, diplomatic and
tourism destination.
When
the hotel opened, Bangladesh's organized hospitality sector was considerably
smaller than it is today. Dhaka had fewer international-standard hotels and
limited options for large-scale conferences, business meetings and luxury
accommodation. Over the decades, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka became a key venue
for business travelers, diplomats, government officials, international visitors
and local guests.
The
hotel has also hosted conferences, meetings, weddings, celebrations and other
major events, making it part of the capital's social and business life beyond
its traditional role as a place for accommodation.
Pan
Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka has developed its restaurants and lounges as an
important part of its identity, serving hotel guests and residents alike.
