CAAB starts five-day aviation training for ministry officials

Dhaka: The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has begun a five-day training program designed to strengthen the aviation knowledge of officials working at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

The specialized course, titled “Indoctrination Training on Civil Aviation,” started September 18 at the Civil Aviation Academy. Policymakers, administrative officials and other ministry personnel are taking part in the program.

The training covers the structure and operations of Bangladesh’s civil aviation system, the responsibilities of key institutions and the roles of different stakeholders. Participants are also being introduced to national and international aviation regulations, along with aviation safety and management standards.

CAAB said the program is intended to improve coordination between government agencies and help officials make faster and more informed decisions on aviation-related matters.

The initiative comes as Bangladesh’s civil aviation sector continues to expand, creating a need for stronger institutional understanding among officials involved in policymaking and administration.

Air Commodore Md Monirul Islam, CAAB member for Flight Standards and Regulations, attended the opening ceremony as chief guest. Civil Aviation Academy Director Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty chaired the event.

Organized by the Civil Aviation Academy, the program is expected to give ministry officials a stronger understanding of aviation operations and help them contribute more effectively to policy development and sector management.
