Turkish Airlines, Air China expand codeshare network between China, Türkiye

The agreement was signed
at the opening of the fourth China Air Transport Association Aviation
Conference and Exhibition in Beijing. It builds on a codeshare arrangement
launched in June 2024 covering flights between Istanbul and Beijing.
Under the expanded deal,
the airlines will place their codes on direct routes connecting Türkiye and
China, along with selected domestic flights beyond Beijing and international
services connecting through Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines
passengers will gain access to additional Chinese destinations, including
Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Qingdao through Beijing. Air
China customers will be able to connect through Istanbul to Ankara and several
destinations in Africa and Latin America.
The onward destinations
include Accra, Lagos, Marrakesh, Dar es Salaam, Algiers and Tunis, as well as
Cancun and Mexico City.
Both airlines are members
of Star Alliance and said their cooperation has gradually improved connectivity
between their respective hubs.
The expanded partnership
allows travelers to book journeys across both networks under a single ticket,
providing additional routing options and smoother connections.
The carriers also plan to
add newly launched direct routes between China and Türkiye to the codeshare
arrangement as their partnership develops.
