BOESL, State Minister Shama discuss strategy to expand overseas employment

Dhaka: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on August 1 held a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL) led by its newly appointed Managing Director Mohammad Rashedul Haque to discuss strategies for expanding overseas employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.

The meeting focused on BOESL's role, future prospects and key challenges in helping implement the government's election pledge to facilitate the overseas employment of 10 million workers.

During the discussions, the participants explored ways to strengthen BOESL's contribution to Bangladesh's overseas employment sector by creating new recruitment strategies and identifying additional foreign job markets.

The state-owned overseas recruitment agency reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the country's manpower export sector by expanding employment opportunities abroad through innovative initiatives and improved recruitment mechanisms, read a social media post.

BOESL General Manager (Overseas Recruitment) Nur Ahmed and Deputy General Manager Nazmun Nahar, a Senior Assistant Secretary, were also present at the meeting.

The discussions also covered overseas recruitment under the government-to-government (G2G) framework and the agency's ongoing efforts to facilitate safe and transparent overseas employment for Bangladeshi workers.
