EgyptAir, FC Barcelona ink three-season sponsorship deal

Dhaka: EgyptAir, the Cairo-based Egyptian flag carrier, has signed a sponsorship agreement with FC Barcelona, becoming the football club's "Global Partner" through the 2028/29 season.

Under the deal, the Egyptian carrier becomes the "Exclusive Official Airline" for Barcelona's men's football, basketball, and handball teams. The handball team's jersey will also carry the EgyptAir logo on the front during matches.

The airline said the partnership supports its broader plan to expand its fleet and international route network, alongside its efforts to enhance passenger services.

For FC Barcelona, the agreement offers a chance to widen the club's global reach, tap into new markets, and reinforce its standing as one of the world's most influential sports organizations.

EgyptAir Holding Company President Captain Ahmed Adel called the sponsorship an unprecedented milestone for the national carrier, noting the partnership pairs the airline's 95-year legacy with Barcelona's global sporting stature.

He said the agreement opens new avenues for connecting with football fans worldwide and reflects a shared vision between both parties to highlight aviation's role in bridging cultures and communities, much as sport has done historically.

FC Barcelona Global Sponsorships Director Marc Bruix said linking the club with EgyptAir, which he described as a benchmark for excellence in international aviation, marks a natural step in the club's expansion.

He added that the tie-up strengthens Barça's commitment to bringing its values to fans across the Middle East and Africa, where the club has a strong following.
