Nurunnahar Chowdhury named civil aviation secretary

Dhaka: Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury, a member (secretary) of the Planning Commission, has been appointed as the new secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

A notification issued on October 14 by the Ministry of Public Administration confirmed the appointment.

Incumbent secretary Fahmida Akhter will proceed on post-retirement leave (PRL) starting October 15.

Dr. Chowdhury was earlier promoted to secretary and posted to the Ministry of Shipping on November 2, 2025, before being transferred to the Planning Commission on April 13 this year.
