Qatar Airways to serve over 170 destinations in winter

Doha : Qatar Airways is expanding its network for the 2026-27 winter season, with services planned to more than 170 destinations and more than 186 weekly flights through its Doha hub.

The airline's winter schedule, announced Sept. 10, includes new and resumed routes as well as additional frequencies across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East.

One of the key changes will be the return of daily flights to Zanzibar from October 25. The carrier will also restore connectivity to Canberra, with daily services via Melbourne scheduled to begin December 9.

Asia-Pacific will receive a significant share of the additional capacity. Flights to Phuket and Male will each rise to 21 per week from October 25, up from 14 and 12 respectively. Ho Chi Minh City will increase from seven to 11 weekly flights beginning November 7, including the return of four nonstop Doha-Ho Chi Minh City services.

Qatar Airways will also operate 18 weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur from October 25, while Melbourne will see its frequency double to 14 weekly services from December 9.

In Australia, partner airline Virgin Australia is adding capacity on its Doha services. From December, Virgin plans to increase Sydney flights to 14 weekly, while three weekly Brisbane flights and four weekly Perth flights will resume. Combined Qatar Airways and Virgin services will reach 21 weekly in Sydney, 10 in Brisbane and 11 in Perth.

Africa will see additional capacity to Seychelles and Johannesburg, while London Heathrow will rise to 56 weekly flights from October 25. Frankfurt will increase to 21 weekly services from December 7.

In North America, Montreal will move from five to seven weekly flights, representing a 40 percent increase in seat capacity and targeting demand from the Indian subcontinent and Middle East.

Qatar Airways is also restoring four Saudi Arabian routes. Qassim and Taif will return in October, followed by Yanbu in January and Tabuk the next day. Each will operate twice weekly, taking the airline's Saudi network to more than 155 weekly flights across 12 destinations.

Alongside the network expansion, Qatar Airways continues to add Starlink connectivity to its widebody fleet. The airline now operates up to 340 Starlink-equipped flights a day using more than 150 aircraft, extending high-speed onboard internet availability across its global network.
