Studio Ghibli worlds to come alive in Singapore exhibition

Singapore : Singapore is set to host an immersive celebration of Studio Ghibli, giving visitors the chance to enter recreated settings from some of the Japanese animation studio's best-known films.

The Story of Studio Ghibli will open at Gardens by the Bay on December 18, marking its global premiere. The exhibition will occupy almost 3,500 square meters at the attraction's West Lawn, making it the largest presentation of the exhibition so far.

Twelve environments will recreate scenes from films including My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and The Boy and the Heron.

Among the highlights will be an eight-meter-tall three-dimensional recreation of the bathhouse featured in Spirited Away. Visitors can also encounter the giant Ohmu from Nausicaä, meet Totoro and explore settings inspired by the mysterious world of Spirited Away.
