Thailand's tourism revenue rises 12.8% in May


Dhaka: Thailand's tourism sector posted solid growth in May, with foreign arrivals rising 3.54% year-on-year to 2.35 million visitors, while revenue reached THB 108 billion, up 12.77%, reflecting stronger per-visitor spending.
Malaysia, China, India, Russia, and Singapore were the top five source markets during the month, reflecting continued regional dominance alongside long-haul recovery.
From January 1 to June 7, Thailand welcomed 14.5 million international arrivals, generating cumulative revenue of THB 701.36 billion.
China led inbound tourism with nearly 2.4 million visitors, followed by Malaysia with approximately 1.8 million, India with 1.1 million, Russia with 964,670, and South Korea with 552,621.
The outlook for the coming weeks remains stable, with a slight uptick in arrivals expected as several markets return to normal seasonal travel patterns.
