Aviation.com.bd holds second tour guide workshop in Dhaka

Dhaka: Aviation.com.bd organized its second tour guide workshop, titled "Tour Guide Technique & Operation," on June 27 in the capital, drawing 23 participants from across Bangladesh, following the success of its first program.
The day-long workshop ran from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Bishwa Sahitya Kendra in Banglamotor, bringing together experienced tour guides, tourism professionals, travel entrepreneurs, students, and young enthusiasts interested in the tourism industry.
Through presentations, group discussions, teamwork exercises, and practical experience-sharing sessions, participants explored the responsibilities of professional tour guides, destination interpretation, visitor management techniques, communication skills, customer service standards, safety considerations, and emerging trends in tourism.
The workshop was facilitated by Taufiq Rahman, founder and chief executive of Journey Plus and secretary general of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Bangladesh Chapter. He drew on nearly three decades of experience in inbound tourism and hospitality education to share insights into industry practices and opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Rahman said, "A tour guide is more than someone who shows places to visitors," adding that a guide interprets a destination, tells its stories, and creates memorable experiences. He stressed that professional training and continuous learning are essential for maintaining service quality.
Harunur Rashid, AvMP, Founder and CEO of Aviation.com.bd, said the success of the first workshop demonstrated the growing need for structured learning opportunities for aspiring and practicing tour guides.
Rashid added that through such initiatives, the organization aims to connect industry experts with future professionals and create a platform to connect, collaborate, promote, and inspire for the sustainable development of Bangladesh's tourism sector.
The workshop concluded with the awarding of certificates of participation to all 23 participants who successfully completed the program.
The organizers said Aviation.com.bd will continue holding industry-focused training programs, networking events, and practical learning opportunities to support the development of a skilled tourism workforce and contribute to the sustainable growth of Bangladesh's tourism industry.
The Bangladesh Monitor supported the day-long event as the Official Media Partner.
