Biman welcomes first return Hajj flight from Saudi Arabia


Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh Airlines welcomed the first group of returning Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia on May 30, marking the beginning of the national carrier's post-Hajj operations for 2026.
The first return Hajj flight, BG336, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Jeddah at 10:35 am, carrying pilgrims back home after completing the annual pilgrimage, read a press release.
To mark the occasion, Biman Bangladesh Airlines arranged a warm reception for the pilgrims at the airport, presenting them with flowers and bottles of holy Zamzam water. Pilgrims arriving on a Saudi Airlines Hajj flight were also greeted with flowers.
Biman Managing Director and CEO Kaiser Sohel Ahmed welcomed the returning pilgrims at the airport. Among others present were Deputy Managing Director and DCEO Syed Moin Uddin Ahmed, Acting Director of Customer Services Mohiuddin Ahmed, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Group Captain SM Ragib Samad, and senior officials of the national flag carrier.
During this year's Hajj operations, Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 38,679 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia through 98 pre-Hajj flights.
The airline has planned to bring back around 39,650 pilgrims through 106 return flights during the post-Hajj period, which will continue from May 30 to June 30, 2026.
Biman said it remains committed to ensuring safe, punctual, and quality passenger services as the country's national flag carrier.
