Gold prices fall again

Under the latest revision,
the price of 22-carat gold has been cut by BDT 6,591 per bhori, bringing it
down to BDT 222,782. The new rates took effect from June 10.
Other categories have
also been adjusted, with 21-carat gold set at BDT 212,635 per bhori and
18-carat gold priced at BDT 182,250. Traditional gold has been fixed at BDT 148,424
per bhori.
BAJUS said, the decision
reflects movements in the domestic price of pure gold, prompting frequent
adjustments in line with market conditions. This marks the second reduction
within a week, following a previous cut on June 6.
So far this year, gold
prices in Bangladesh have been revised 72 times, with both increases and
decreases occurring almost evenly.
Silver prices were also
lowered in the latest update. The 22-carat silver rate has been reduced by BDT 350
per bhori to BDT 4,899, while other categories now range between BDT 3,033 and BDT
4,666 per bhori depending on purity.
