Oman Air to launch Dubai-Salalah flights from July 3

Dhaka: Oman Air will launch direct flights between Dubai and Salalah from July 3, giving UAE travelers a new option for a cooler getaway closer to home.
The year-round route will connect Dubai International Airport with Salalah International Airport, providing direct access to Oman's southern Dhofar region, known for its cooler climate and mist-covered landscapes during the Khareef season.
Oman Air will operate three flights a week on the new route, in addition to its existing three daily services between Dubai and Muscat.
The Khareef season, which typically runs through the summer months, transforms Salalah's normally dry terrain into a green destination, as monsoon rains bring cooler temperatures, fog-covered mountains, and flowing streams.
The launch comes as airlines ramp up capacity to Salalah to meet rising seasonal demand, with more than 520,000 seats expected to be available to and from the destination this Khareef, according to local media reports.
Oman's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the Khareef season, running from June 21 to September 21, draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to Dhofar each year, prompting increased operational preparations at Salalah Airport.
Brajesh Kumar, Regional Manager for Sales (GCC and MEA) at Oman Air, said the new service reflects Salalah's enduring appeal during Khareef, pointing to its unique climate, scenic beauty, and Omani hospitality.
Oman Air will provide around 330,000 seats this Khareef season, up from 313,000 last year, while SalamAir is expected to offer roughly 190,844 seats, the CAA said.
Passenger traffic on Oman Air is projected to reach nearly 298,000 during the season, an 8% rise over the 277,000 carried in 2025. SalamAir expects to carry more than 166,000 passengers.
To meet demand, Oman Air will operate up to 13 daily flights between Muscat and Salalah, up from 12 last year, with frequencies rising to 14 on selected peak days.
SalamAir will run up to 10 daily flights on the route and is scheduled to operate 984 services during the season, compared with 962 flights in 2025.
