Sweden warns of strict consequences for Schengen visa overstays

Dhaka: The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka has cautioned travelers that overstaying a Schengen visa — even by a single day — could lead to serious penalties, including a ban from entering all Schengen countries.

In an advisory issued on October 30, the embassy reminded visitors to strictly monitor their visa validity and duration of stay.

“Planning to soak up every moment of your European adventure? Amazing — but make sure you’re keeping an eye on your visa dates and number of days!” the statement said.

The embassy emphasized that exceeding the permitted stay, even briefly, can result in significant repercussions and urged travelers to plan their trips carefully to avoid violations.
