Turkish Airlines plans Istanbul–Sydney route with A350-1000

The ultra-long-haul route
would cover about 9,300 miles and take up to 19 hours, making it the airline’s
longest flight. Some A350-1000s will be configured for extended-range
operations with more business class seating to improve economics on the route.
However, the project
still faces challenges, including aircraft weight limits, fuel requirements,
and final design decisions with Airbus. A potential technical stop has not been
ruled out, though the airline is aiming for a nonstop operation.
The A350-1000s are
expected to join the fleet from next year, with further deliveries through
2027, paving the way for the new service if all conditions are met.
Alongside this plan,
Turkish Airlines is also exploring new North American routes and higher
frequencies to cities such as Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando,
Minneapolis, and Philadelphia, as it expands its long-haul network.
