Gulf Air to launch new Bahrain-Malaysia flights for Grand Prix

Dhaka: Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, announced plans to launch direct flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
The announcement follows confirmation from Formula 1 and the FIA that the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be hosted at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from October 2 to 4, rather than in Bahrain.
Gulf Air, title sponsor of the race, said the new nonstop route would strengthen air connectivity between Bahrain and Malaysia while giving motorsports fans and other travelers a direct gateway to the event.
The carrier's association with the race dates back to 2004, when the Bahrain Grand Prix became the first Formula 1 event held in the Arabian Gulf region. Gulf Air said it remains proud to continue that partnership as title sponsor.
Specific flight schedules, frequencies, and fares for the Kuala Lumpur route have not yet been released. The airline said further details would be announced at a later date.
