Air China Cargo raises A350 freighter order to 10 units

Dhaka: Airbus has confirmed Air China Cargo's decision to expand its A350F freighter order by four additional units, bringing its total firm order to 10 aircraft.
The Chinese carrier initially ordered six A350Fs in November 2025 with options for additional units. Multiple media reports earlier this month indicated the airline intended to sign a supplementary agreement to convert four of those options into firm orders.
Wang Hongyan, Vice President of Air China Cargo, said the additional order is a strategic move to optimize fleet structure and expand transport capacity, laying a foundation for the company's long-term development.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus executive vice president for commercial aircraft sales, noted the expanded order reflects Air China Cargo's confidence in the product and reaffirms the A350F's position as a leading next-generation freighter.
Air China Cargo has been steadily growing its freighter operations in recent years. The airline began introducing Airbus A330-200 passenger-to-freighter conversions in late 2023 and currently operates eight of the type.
The A350F boasts a range of up to 8,700 kilometers and a payload capacity of up to 111 tonnes, suited for long-haul international routes. As of late April, the variant had accumulated 101 orders from 14 customers.
